What's in a name?

Here in the Mittleholtz household, we know a few things about spelling a difficult last name.  That would be two "t's" not "d's" thank you...and for when we need to spell in the good ole' USA - that is a zed.  Ok, enough with that!  What bothers me, is when I've typed out the spelling, and they STILL get it wrong!  Like in the photo of the LO I did today:

pp-jelllibean soup; cardstock-bobunny; letter stickers-doodlebug; thread-ikea; based on pagemaps sketch from SCT Fall 2011 magazine

Noah's trophy was spelled this way...while Ethan's was correct.  Common mistake.  Anyway, it finally gave me the opportunity to do a LO about the M-I-T-T-L-E-H-O-L-T-Z song.

It is almost here...

The Wiarton District Optimist Crop that I and Victoria have been working so hard for is tomorrow!  Here is a photo of the prizes:

+ a Miche bag and a beautiful scarf!!!  I am so grateful and humbled for all of the wonderful ladies, who when I called or emailed, said "yes"  What a wonderful testiment to the scrapbooking industry.

...and here are all of the swag bags I put together (all 39 of them):

I made these as my contribution to the "baked good donation":

Brad says I'm cruel...I told him he could have one, but he didn't take.  There may be extras - um no, there won't be.  I'll have to make some for the family next weekend.

Well, that's what I've been up to this past 2 weeks.  Not a lot of creating going on.  I may create a bit tomorrow, we'll see.

fun with Write.click.scrapbook.

I discovered this blog today:  write.click.scrapbook  and there is a giveaway there - go check it out!  + Becky Fleck of Pagemaps gave them a sketch to inspire their readers.  Here it is:

I turned it on the side and came up with this:

materials used:  Kaiser craft pp; bazzill cardstock; ikea thread; ranger distress ink (forest moss); karen's creations cut out; unknown ribbon and 3d foam dots; cricut cut out of tag; tim holtz distress tool
I used the cut out from Karen's creations as a tempate for the distress ink over and over.  It also darkend up the actual cut out, and I'm quite pleased.

Feeling a bit behind

With Wiarton Willie weekend, and planning for Ethans birthday, I just haven't been on the computer much except to apply for jobs and read email.  I did make the following for Ethans party.  TOTALLY stole the cone treat bag from Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine (winter 2011), and the photo with the lolly in it came off of their blog last week. I just put the two together!

You Are My Sunshine

Hi there!

Here's a layout I've done!  (it has been quite a while since I've done a layout...probably way before Christmas)

Anyway...it is based on a couple of challenges.
1.  The Paper Variety challenge is to make a fan embelishment on your project.  I did "fan" flowers.

2.  Creative Scrappers put out this sketch:

and
3.  The Scrapping Nook is having their January on-line crop right now!  The theme is OLD vs NEW.  One of the challenges is to use something new to me.  The paper from Echo Park's "times and seasons" arrived at my door on Friday, so that is my newest scrappy purchase.

Here is my layout:

I turned the sketch on its side.
supplies used:  pp, stickers - Echo park "times and seasons"; buttons - my button jar; ribbon - unknown; thread - guttermann; distresser - tim holtz; adhesive - beacons & scrapbook adhesives

and here is a closeup of my homemade fan flower:

a close up showing my "pop of colour" - it is rose, and the photos do not show it well.
