Thought I'd better get this done...

Here's a pagemaps contest I'm entering:

my version is a bit (ok, a lot more plain) + not the best photo:
pp- crate paper; cardstock - ac; thread - guttermann; stickers - crate paper; distress tool - tim holtz; unknown suede pieces

here are some close ups:

now some December daily's to catch up:

December 25

December 26:

I don't seem to have one for December 27 or 28th (boo to me, but that is really ok, as I only have 21 pages in my album...I was thinking it was going to be difficult to squeeze them all in anyway :) )

December daily - day 23

This is what we came home to today after shopping:

sometimes being married to the pastor isn't so bad! ok, most of the time it is good...  but Christmas time it seems to be extra good with the presents from the members of the congregation.

Sketch challenge and December daily - day 22

Hi there!

Here is a pagemaps sketch for the Crop and Create facebook page challenge this week:

And this is what I did with it:

materials used:  bo bunny snowfall collection of pp, stickers, letter stickers, chipboard and rubons; ek success corner rounder and edge punch; ac cardstock; shimmerz pearl; beacons adhesive
This is more linear than I would normally do, but I thought it fitting for all of the Christmas letters that we have written over the years to be put into our family album.  And this sketch worked for them.

On to my December daily for today... today was "sneaky" Christmas wrapping.  So, I've hidden the presents in plain view, in hopes that the boys won't look up:

December daily - day 20

The boys have been crafty:

They made them at PMA on the last PD day that we had.  (apparently they can be sneaky too).  So I believe I have two photos of the day for my December daily!  Only 11 more days to go!  And 5 more sleeps until santa.

I also have an announcement!  I will be helping Karen from Karen's Creations with her blog and web page beginning in the new year!  Cool, eh?!  So stay tuned for that!

December daily - day 19

Hi there!

Well, the countdown is ON!!!  Tonight, we're decorating the church's Christmas tree...the waiting of Advent will soon be over, and the Christ child will be here.  Our family continues to do our "regular" stuff.  This leads me to my December daily - day 19:

Noah practices almost every day.  Each song/excercise 2x.

I TOTALLY scraplifted this out of Canadian Scrapbooker Magazine Fall 2011 edition.  Becky Litz from Cranbrook, British Columbia made a "teacher survival kit and clipboard".  I used some (ok, most) of her elements.  I am not including a clipboard with all of the classmates signatures.  That was a really good idea, I just leave things too long...Anyway, here is my result:  I made one for each of the boys teachers.  Every item has a tag on it explaining its importance.
materials used:  simple stories pp, stickers, letter stickers; ranger ink; tim holtz distress tool; unknown stamp on tag (gift); beacons adhesive
the tags read:
animal cookies for when your classroom seems like a zoo
bani-aids for when things get a little rough
crayons to colour your day bright and cheerful
candle for when you are up late marking or planning
smarties because that's who you are teaching
kit kat bar because by the end of the day you'll probably need a "break"
eraser to remind you everyone makes mistakes
lifesavers for when you've had one of those days
paperclips to hold it all together
pencil to "write your wrongs"
robber band to remind you to be flexible
starburst to give you a "burst" of energy when you need it
tissues to wipe away the tears.... yours and theirs
toothpicks- to help you "pick" out the good qualities in others and yourself

A winner and December Daily for December 17 and 18

Hi there!

Here is my December daily for day 17:

I made these "toad in a hole" for dinner Saturday after selling Christmas trees for the Optimist club all afternoon.  The boys loved the hearts instead of the regular circle.

And here is my December daily for today, (my dad's birthday) Dcember 18:

made this for my MIL for her Christmas present.  Karen Lancaster from Karen's Creations designed it.  One side is Ethan, the other is of course, Noah.
Materials used:  Bobunny dot paper; bazzill cardstock; dollar store greenery, trumpet charms, and bells; maya road ribbon; prima flowers; zip dry adhesive

On to the winner for my 100th post which you can see HERE!   I called my Dad, and he chose a number between 1 and 9.

He chose.....

Best FRIDAY ever!!!

Well, today I had my first interview in about 5 years.  It went well, I turned down the job that they offered because high pressure sales is not for me, but it was really nice being offered.  The whole experience was good.  It was nice to know I can still do fairly well in an interview, and have the confidence to turn something down.  The right job will come.

The second great thing about today is that this came right to my doorstep:

My gift from my Scrapping Nook Kris Kringle (Buddy the Elf) is Patti!

and even though, Patti wrote FRAGILE, please be careful! - the UPS guy, opened the door and slamed it down inbetween the two doors, and this happened:

So a HUGE thank you to Patti.  It was so much fun opening up all of the presents.  (she even stuck in 2 billion dollar Canadian dollar chocolates for my boys!)

December Daily - day 10

PHEW!!!  I can't believe it is day 10 in December already!!!  2 weeks to go until our favourite holiday around here.  Here is what we've been up to today:

showing off the final product!
These took LITERALLY all day to make!  I mixed up the gingerbread recipe this morning at around 8am.  Put in the frige to "firm up" while we went bowling and did some Christmas shopping.  We rolled out the dough, cut the shapes out and baked them this afternoon.  After they "completely cooled", we could finally decorate them at 8pm!  Tomorrow, we'll put on the ribbons, and voila! 50 or so Christmas tree ornaments to give away - some on their own, and some attached to presents.

I think posting two a day, is probably the way to go! (at least that is what I'm doing).  Here are the two photos:

Dec 6, 2011:homemade spa gifts made at parents group

Dec. 7, 2011: Ethan with box that arrived yesterday - note the pants are on backwards.  When asked, he replied, "I'm ok with that"
Well, there you have it!  All caught up, and my four year old still loves boxes to play with!  (little does he know what arrived INSIDE that box via internet shopping.  ~I'll share that after Christmas~ Have I mentioned how much I love the computer!

a challenge and December daily - Day 2

Hi there!

I have been challenged by inspired to scrap with this sketch:
and over at the Paper Variety, the challenge this week is to showcase ornaments.  I did a card based on Stacey's sketch with ornaments:

materials used:  making memories pp; bo bunny sticker; doodlebug letter stickers; maya road brads; unknown jute rope; tim holtz distressing tool; ranger distress ink; staples cardstock

That is also my December daily photo for day #2 - the card is to thank an anonymous donar for providing enough money for the leaders of the Parent Mutual Aid group I attend to purchase Christmas presents for our children.  Because of wonderful people like that in our community, our day just got brighter.
