Interesting size for a LO. Great sketch so I'll have to get busy.

To respond to your comment, yes that is an interesting size.  Optimist International produced that size of a scrapbook for their clubs to document a years worth of activities long before scrapbooking became such a popular activity with all the bells and whistles (and standard 12x12 sizes)...I'm trying to get that changed within the Midwestern Ontario District, but it won't happen this year!  So for my year as president, this is what I've got to work with.

NSD...The day after

Thank you to all of you who took part in yesterdays Scrap~tures blog hop!  If you didn't - please go to THIS POST and be sure to leave a comment, and on Tuesday I will draw for a RAK out of those comments.

As well as the blog hop, I spent yesterday with a few of my scrappy friends (about 40 or so) at the Karen's Creation's National Scrapbook Day 9-9 crop.  It was held at the Sauble Beach Community Centre.  And as always, the time flew by way to fast.  We laughed a lot, ate tremendous food, and actually scrapbooked a little bit!  Here are some of the things I made while there:

Happy birthday card
card sketch by Karen Lancaster; cardstock-american crafts and bazzill; ribbon and stamp - unknown; ink - ranger; embossing folder - tim holtz; die cut - provo craft cricut; technique - dry embossing with ink from NSD mini crop challenge #16 The Scrapping Nook

1988
sketch - from NSD mini crop challenge #6 The Scrapping Nook; pp-bobunny; sew esay tool & floss - we R memory keepers; thread - ikea; cricut cartridge - provo craft "designers calendar" mini crochet doilie - kaiser craft; ribbon - unknown

Optimist scrapbook fundraiser
double sketch, tickets and film strip-Karen Lancaster; pp-cosmo cricket; cardstock-staples, bazzill; thread-ikea; ribbon-unknown; pen-american crafts; ink-ranger; pop dots

Our design team has been hard at work! Leave a comment on all 5 blogs and then return to the Scrap~tures blog and post a comment that you have completed the blog hop. Choose any design team members take on the sketch that inspires you & scrap-lift it. Post it on our Facebook page in the album provided, in our gallery or on your own blog and add it to the Linky party below by Monday, May 7 at 7 pm for a chance to win a prize!

Here is the sketch from Creative Scrappers:

and here is my take on it:
This LO is for the Wiarton District Optimist Club scrapbook.  The dimensions are 14x10.75...so I enlongated the sketch and used an oval instead of a circle, I think I pulled it off.
Materials used:  bo bunnypp, my computer for the circle, american crafts chipboard letter stickers and pen, ikea thread, unknon lace, ranger liquid pearls

I will draw for a RAK for anyone who tries this sketch and links it to my comments section - good luck!

Your next stop is:  Laurie

What's in a name?

Here in the Mittleholtz household, we know a few things about spelling a difficult last name.  That would be two "t's" not "d's" thank you...and for when we need to spell in the good ole' USA - that is a zed.  Ok, enough with that!  What bothers me, is when I've typed out the spelling, and they STILL get it wrong!  Like in the photo of the LO I did today:

pp-jelllibean soup; cardstock-bobunny; letter stickers-doodlebug; thread-ikea; based on pagemaps sketch from SCT Fall 2011 magazine

Noah's trophy was spelled this way...while Ethan's was correct.  Common mistake.  Anyway, it finally gave me the opportunity to do a LO about the M-I-T-T-L-E-H-O-L-T-Z song.

It is almost here...

The Wiarton District Optimist Crop that I and Victoria have been working so hard for is tomorrow!  Here is a photo of the prizes:

+ a Miche bag and a beautiful scarf!!!  I am so grateful and humbled for all of the wonderful ladies, who when I called or emailed, said "yes"  What a wonderful testiment to the scrapbooking industry.

...and here are all of the swag bags I put together (all 39 of them):

I made these as my contribution to the "baked good donation":

Brad says I'm cruel...I told him he could have one, but he didn't take.  There may be extras - um no, there won't be.  I'll have to make some for the family next weekend.

Well, that's what I've been up to this past 2 weeks.  Not a lot of creating going on.  I may create a bit tomorrow, we'll see.
